Director Sekhar Kammula is known for his feel good movies. With movies like Anand, Happy Days and Godavari, he has cemented that image. He was in a success streak for a while but could deliver a hit in a long time now, this time he has teamed up with a successful produder Dill Raju who himself is on a winning spree with back to back hits. Sekhar Kammula has casted Varun Tej and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles to come up with this one more feel good movie (Fidaa), let’s see if this movie has worked in Sekhar Kammula’s way and lifts his fortunes again.
Varun (Varun Tej) comes from US to attend his brother’s marriage in Bhansuvada, a rural village in Telangana and meets Bhanumathi (Sai Pallavi), the bride’s sister and they get attracted to each other. Bhanumathi does not like the idea of leaving her father after marriage and fears that if she gets married to Varun she might have to leave her father and starts distancing herself from Varun, which she could not do and wants to propose Varun on the other hand even Varun thinks of proposing Bhanumathi.
What are the twists in this love story ? Did Varun propose Bhanumathi ? How it ends is the story and had to be watched on the silver screen.
Fidaa Telugu Movie Review:
Director Sekhar Kammula continued his style and successfully presented another feel good movie and with the backing of a good producer like Dill Raju and the backing of good actors like Varun Tej and Sai Pallavi added to the positives of the movie. Being shot in an village environment, Sai Pallavi’s dialogues in Telangana dialect, the romance between the lead actors, the back drop of a marriage and very good songs made the first half a treat to watch.
But the entertainment is missing in the second half and the audience would feel a bit disappointed about this as the movie slows down and the emotional content takes in the story. Few scenes where the lead actors try to divert themselves from thinking about each other will feel a bit silly and routine. Second half is filled with emotional drama, though there are some scenes where comedy was tried, the whole narration itself was slow which makes the audience unrest in the seat.
Sai Pallavi and Varun Tej gave a tremendous performance and can say that they both competed with each other in acting.
- Sai Pallavi
- Varun Tej
- Sekhar Kammula’s Direction.
- Slow second half
- Routine story
Verdict: Ignore some slow scenes in second half and enjoy the feel good direction of Sekhar Kammula.
