Dora is a desperate attempt to justify Nayanthara’s lady superstar tag, as if the world really cares about it. If you thought films were only made to satisfy ego of male stars, Dora is the perfect example to prove that theory wrong. Debutant Doss Ramaswamy, while cashing in on the success of films such as Maya and Kaashmora, where Nayanthara proved she’s more than just a pretty face and can pack a punch with her performance, shows that even a good actor can’t possibly save a badly written film and Nayanthara is no exception.
Parijaatham (Nayanthara,) is a simple innocent girl who is the daughter of a taxi driver. The daughter and father get a vintage Austin Cambridge car (Dora) for themselves, but by the time they get this car it is already possessed by a spirit who wants to be avenged. As soon as Parijaatham enters into this car her entire attitude changes and she turns out to be rebellious after she starts driving this car. Will Parijaatham help the spirit? Will the spirit be able to take its revenge? How will Parijaatham’s life change because of this incident, is the remaining part of the story.

Nayanthara is one of that super talented leading actress in the South who shows a lot of interest towards doing different films. She is quite popular for doing women centric films and I must say that she has nailed it in Dora.It is not easy to perform in a horror film. But this gorgeous lady has done it with so much ease making us all fall in love with her performance.
This is a directorial debut for Dass Ramasamy but that did not appear on the screen. He has done a decent job in handling this project and at the same time, he was able to carry out the feel throughout. All the other actors have done a good job and have done justice to their roles.
The BGM is spot on and is amplified with radiant cinematography, the film bears a lazy sepia look and that definitely matches the tone of the story.
