Arjun Reddy review:
Arjun Reddy is a very different way of storytelling which is completely opposite of regular movies and one has to appreciate the director to select the way of his story telling. Though it’s a love story, the way it has been projected over the screen is completely different and bold. The director wanted to show the love story of a person with Anger and Addiction issues and he is completely successful in the showcasing the subject.
Vijay Devarakonda is the heart of the movie and the way he has transformed from a good looking guy to a drug addict in the movie is amazing, the first half of the film shows vijay in a student role who is full of anger and a lover and the second half we see him as an alcoholic and a drug addict.
Few topics which we hesitate to talk are openly shown in the film. The director did a great job in elevating the hero’s character in the first half and at the same time shows us how a man can go to dumps with addictions in the second half, the effort was commendable. Background music and songs are a big plus to the movie. The film does not any commercial elements and has been made very realistically.
The first of the movie is very entertaining but the second half is dull, the rare comedy scenes provide some relief. The second is full of scenes where the hero suffers because of his love failures and how character is loses dignity. The emotional twist at the end is very good. Dialogues are fantastic; few dialogues will not go through comfortably with family audience.
It has to been seen If the audience will accept this boring attempt and make the movie successful, but we can say that this movies surely cements Vijay Devarakonda’s place in the industry and also gets a new talented director.
Overall this movie is a new kind of experience to Telugu Audience, the only drawback being the length of the second half, the movie would have been even better if the run time was trimmed.
