Adhirindi Telugu Movie Review :

Adhirindi has all the ingredients required for a commercial movie, like a smart script, a mass hero, romance,  comedy, and a lot of action. Its not a new story by the way, but the way director Atlee presents it on the screen is brilliant. He perfectly uses the charm and terrific screen presence of Vijay to engage the audience with a routine story. The major drawback in Telugu version is its Tamil nativity, locations and Tamil actors. It’s not so easy to connect with other language actors unless the movie has a very strong story, emotions and great performances.

This movie is about three “Two sons taking revenge on a villain for their father’s murder, in the backdrop of corrupted medical system”. Adhirindi movie is purely Vijay’s show and Atlee’s screenplay, otherwise the movie becomes very predictable. Even it is a quite predictable story, the screenplay and Vijay’s performance makes the magic. It is quite challenging to play triple role, and Vijay never did Triple role in any of his previous movies, but Vijay did it brilliant in this movie.

Samantha, Kajal Agarwal, Nithya Menon did a good job, especially Nithya Menon’s performance as an educated village house wife is really amazing. The 80’s flashback portion intro scene and the pre-interval fight scene are some of the major highlights. The comedy and sentiment portions are laced without disturbing the core plot. But the flashback portion could have been cut short.

G.K Vishnu’s cinematography, A.R Rahman’s background music, and making values are big assets for the movie. SJ Suryah as the menacing villain fits the bill and has a few scoring scenes. Overall a mass entertainer with smart script and predictable story.

Strengths :

  • Vijay’s Performance
  • Screenplay and Direction
  • Cinematography
  • Action
  • Background music

Weaknesses:

  • Predictable story
  • Tamil Nativity
  • Average songs
