With movies like Mukunda and Kanche, Mega hero Varun Tej become a bankable actor in the Tollywood industry. After serial flops Director Sreenu Vaitla teamed up with this Mega hero and made a family entertainer “Mister”. The duo is in need of a decent hit to their credit, as their movie careers are going through rough patch, let’s discuss whether this movie can help their careers or not.
Chay (Varun Tej) lives in Spain with his parents while his grandfather Pichaiah Naidu (Nassar) lives in India. Chay hates his Grandfather Pichaiah Naidu. One day by mistake Chay receives Meera(Hebah Patel) from airport on her five-day visit to Spain. She stays with Chay’s family and Chay falls in love with her. After a small twist in the story Chay travels to India, there he meets Chandramukhi(Lavanya Tripathi). The rest of the story revolves around how Chay protects Chandramukhi and Meera. Another interesting aspect of the movie is the lady with whom Chay gets married.
When we think about Srinu Vaitla’s movies, we will notice three things 1. Comedy 2. Big cast 3. Twists in the story. Again he executed a film in his style with a message oriented Triangle love story. Scenes that happen in Spain are entertaining. The movie has his trademark satires, punches and also a spoof on Nagarjuna’s Oopiri film. Overall, first half impresses the audience.
Varun Tej is super cool in this film, his styling needs special mention. Hebah Patel as Meera is fine and carried glamor quotient well in the first half. Lavanya Tripathi as a royal family girl done a good job. Comedians Srinivasa Reddy, Prudhvi and Raghu Babu performed well. There are many villains who are impressive.
As second half starts, Chandramukhi’s (Lavanya Tripathi) story starts and it makes the movie a bit slower. With some comedy and action scenes Overall, the second half is an average plot.
The major flaws in the movie is due to the presence of too many villain characters and subplots. Srinu Vaitla’s obsession with too many villains marred his previous movies, and yet he did not seem to learn.
Mickey J Meyer tunes work well with masses but background score is dull in chasing sequences. K.V.Guhan’s photography is very good.
Mister movie has an entertaining first half and a mediocre second half, but overall impression would be a decent entertainer for Summer holidays.
Mister Rating: 3/5
