The impact of old currency ban on Tollywood is so much that we may witness unprecedented shuffle in the release sates of some of the biggest upcoming projects.

Tollywood Film industry is infamous for running largely with the help of unaccounted money. With Central govt. cutting that source, the shooting of many under-production films is said to be put on hold. The release dates of ready-for-release films have also been pushed into confusion as the theatres are reporting very low occupancy.

For some big budget films, businesses are already closed with buyers paying advances to grab the rights. Now, these distributors are said to be in no position to pay the remaining amount. As a result, an uncertainty wave has engulfed the release dates of these biggies.

As Megastar Chiranjeevi’s ‘Khaidi No.150’ and Ram Charan‘s ‘Dhruva’ are technically the production ventures of the same family, this effect can be at large in the release dates. Dhruva is tentatively slated for release on 2nd Decemebr and Khaidi has booked Sankranthi slot. But, the latest reports in film circles hint that Dhruva might be pushed to Sankranthi and Khaidi may go as back as to Summer 2017.

Dhruva film directed by Surender Reddy and produced by Allu Aravind under his banner Geetha Arts. It features Ram Charan, Rakul Preet Singh. The film is a remake of the 2015 Tamil-language film Thani Oruvan.

Khaidi No. 150 film directed by V. V. Vinayak. It features Chiranjeevi, Shriya Saran and Kajal Agarwal in the lead roles and marks as the former’s comeback to acting after 10 years. It is a remake of the Tamil film Kaththi (2014).
